Fire Safety Talks

Fire Safety Talks

ON Wednesday 18th September, Ruthy from the London Fire Brigade visited Wormholt Park school.

She visited Year 5 and Year 2 and taught us how to keep safe. We learnt about:

  • Fire Prevention
  • The importance of having a Fire Alarm in our home
  • We practised how to escape and
  • How to get help

All the children were given a home fire safety checklist and a fire plan reminder to take home and share with their families.

Did you know that: The London Fire Brigade offer free home safety checks? Firefighters or trained staff will visit you at home, at a time that suits you and carry out a risk assessment. They will give you advice based on your home and individual needs. This includes; information on how to prevent fires, the importance of smoke alarms to detect a fire and your escape plan in the event of a fire.
